背景:隨著人們口腔衛生健康意識抬頭,口腔保健產品雖不能快速帶來高額產值,但不可否認就以它們的銷量在醫療器材產業中而言,尤其是在牙科醫療產業是一種另類的「隱形冠軍」,在國際醫療器材產業進出口貿易總額中均佔有其重要的比重。在醫療保健產品中所添加之天然物質種類繁多,絕大部分則與植物之萃取物有關,主要原因為對於植物應用的歷史悠久並有大量研究證實其藥理之效用,應用範圍更是相當廣泛。已知植物精油大多具有抗菌等效果,現今不僅被用於傳統芳香療法,更被應用且添加於化妝品、消毒液等產品。然而過往國際上對於口腔保健產品產業現況分析較少,並且雖然有許多相關學者探討牙科材料、植物藥理學、植物精油等議題,卻未曾想過將其

結合,帶來突破性商機。目的:針對世界海關組織(WCO)之統計資料作整理及分析,探討國際口腔保健產品產業現況;分析利用大馬士革玫瑰精油的藥理作用,結合人們日常所需的口腔醫療保健產品,提升生活品質與產品效用,開創新的商機。方法:本研究首先查詢世界海關組織(WCO)之標準目錄關於口腔或牙科保健產品分類之各國進出口貿易相關資料,進行分析比對;利用市售之兩種大馬士革玫瑰精油,透過GC-MS成分分析探討其精油成分,再用液態培養法及紙錠法探討大馬士革玫瑰精油對於大腸桿菌及金黃色葡萄球菌是否具有抗菌之效果,最後透過國內外進出口貿易等市場分析之數據,評估口腔保健產品若加入植物精油後其市場成效是否能成為新的商機。

結果:結果顯示,在口腔保健產品及植物精油市場上,即使近年因新冠肺炎疫情影響,各國進出口總額不如往前,但整體趨勢仍具有穩定的發展。含有保加利亞大馬士革玫瑰之精油在抑制大腸桿菌及金黃色葡萄球菌的抗菌實驗中表現較為突出。精油會因玫瑰產地不同,在成分及抗菌效果上有極大的差異。結論:綜合結果,本研究認為來自保加利亞之大馬士革玫瑰精油具良好抗菌效果,將其添加於口腔保健產品,未來很有機會成為新的商機。
